| Glass Tower
| |
|---|---|
It contains good-faith information, such as an existing building or content. |
The Glass Tower is a 138-story tower with 5 elevators (3 scenic and 2 interior). It is from the movie "The Towering Inferno." It was the second tower to be built, after the Triton Center. Next to it there is the Peerless Building, which has no content inside, like the Daley Center's facade in Triton Center. The Glass Tower is one of the official buildings of Skyscrapersim, the another being Triton Center.
This Glass Tower model was originally designed by Michael Jehn of CMU, and modeled by Ryan Thoryk. Eventually copies of Fox tower model blueprints were provided by film illustrator Joseph Musso, who worked on the Towering Inferno, and the model was modified to match the blueprints as much as possible. The blueprints detail the 70-foot model of the Glass Tower along with the elaborate base structure which was mostly built, and separately the roof structure which was built as a film set.
