A sandbox is used for testing any user's contributions (such as a work-in-progress template) before it's ready for the article mainsplace. It can also be used for testing different functions such as headings, lists, scripts, image galleries and wikitables. Sandboxes have currently been created for users Elevator1512 and Lighthouse Friesland.
