You might have noticed that in certain buildings, outside floor indicators are present only for the service/freight elevators. I removed such indicators from those places' passenger elevators because of missing indicator issues that occurred in early 2018 (I remember experiencing this bug when I was working on Marketing Square in April 2018). However, because this issue was quickly fixed, the indicators were added again to other places as usual.
Anyways, some buildings (excl. mods) still lack such indicators on at least one floor (apart from one or more service elevators, if present), so let me share the reason why:
- Transnational Office Plaza: This building is simulated to be built during the time when external indicators weren't greatly used in real elevators (at least I still leave the parking elevators' external indicators intact).
- Marriott Marquis Interchange City: Intended to be like certain EPL Kone elevators in real world.
- Skyscraper School (V3) (Matrix Building): Intended to be like the real school building which also has outside indicators only for Elevator 7.
However, because I recently added destination dispatch to Skydream Tower and Simulation Tower, external indicators will not be added to the DD elevators in both places, mocking the appearance of such thing IRL. Note that I will leave the conventional elevators at both places untouched, as I like how the lanterns are placed vertically above doors, like in The Spire.
Note: Older versions of buildings (including mods and discontinued places) will not have these indicators added.

27 October 2024 - Additional notes for the next release
Because I may unexpectedly update an older building with a new feature, my buildings (including building-specific scripts) will no longer have the most recent month and year of revision in their filenames. (However, the format "Building Name (Address).bld" is still used for some places in Tranquility City.) The only things with a year label would be scripts commonly shared among many buildings such as "Deco2023" and "AutomaticDoor2013."
Therefore, please kindly back up the building files that you have prior to installing any new update, just in case anything goes wrong with the new naming convention. Additionally, because some of my buildings are included as a part of eventhorizon's city test, if that test does not load due to my change, you can either:
- Rename my buildings to match with the name stated in the "City.bld" file, or
- Privately modify your copy of the "City.bld" file, changing the loaded buildings' name in the code to match with mine.
Note: The only disadvantage with this change would be, if you install any recent version of my IP, and later install G1DP or any package containing buildings and data from many people, any building that existed since the old forum (such as Skydream Tower and Serenity Hospital) would be replaced with a copy from the past, unless you choose to compare both files when copying the latter. This however can be remedied if, for example, gooper1 updates G1DP with more recent files from both forums.
